The flexible stuff — ramen, shopping, temples, neighbourhood wandering — can move. These fixed-date experiences should shape the itinerary.

Pack layers, not a winter wardrobe

Late September can still feel warm. October evenings are cooler, especially after a long outdoor day. Bring breathable tops, a light jacket/cardigan, comfortable walking shoes and a compact umbrella.

Central Tokyo and Osaka typically reach stronger autumn colour later than northern or higher-altitude areas. For October colour, look to cooler regions or elevated day trips.

Domestic travel rises around public holidays. In 2026, late September has a notable run of holidays, and Sports Day falls on 12 October — not ideal dates for a “quiet” Disney or USJ day.

If your route allows it, put Disney or USJ on Tuesday–Thursday and use weekends for neighbourhoods, shopping or sightseeing that doesn't have a capacity limit.

Japan feels very different from Singapore by October — but don't expect full red-maple Tokyo just because the calendar says autumn.

No. A mobile e-ticket can remove the need to buy admission on-site, but security, entry and attraction queues may still exist. At theme parks, separate products or in-park systems may be needed to reduce ride waits.

Should I book all five attractions?

Probably not. A 7–10 day Japan trip usually feels better with two or three major ticketed experiences plus flexible neighbourhood days. Pick based on your route, interests and how many “full commitment” park days you actually want.

What if the weather changes?

Keep indoor and outdoor attractions on different days where possible. teamLab and Warner Bros. are strong rainy-day options; SHIBUYA SKY is the one most sensitive to rooftop weather conditions.
